Mission
Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada creates supports programs that directly improve the health, education and well-being of children and families.

Vision
Our vision is a community where children's health and educational needs are met with care and compassion.

History
The Reno Ronald McDonald House opened in 1987. The House welcomes families of seriously ill children who live more than 30 miles away from Reno and have a child undergoing treatment at a local hospital or clinic.

Through our community outreach programs we address the health and education needs of children in our community. The programs include: Travel for Treatment (1992), RMHC Outreach Grants (1998), the RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program (2000), and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile (2003). These additional programs allow us to help a greater number of children and families in our area.
Our Relationship with McDonald's®

Ronald McDonald House Charities has been McDonald's "charity of choice" for 36 years

Collectively, McDonald's utilizes their restaurant's advertising dollars, packaging and crew to create customer awareness and support of RMHC. Local members of the McDonald's family volunteer on our board of trustees and committees and support our local fundraising events.




We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, but McDonald's is our largest corporate donor. Portions of the annual operating costs for Ronald McDonald Houses are graciously funded by McDonald's and owner/operators of local McDonald's restaurants. The remainder of our annual operating income comes from the generosity of individual and corporate donors.
McDonald's involvement extends beyond monetary support:
Franchises partner with local Chapters for promotional and fundraising events.
McDonald's employees are dedicated volunteers.
Owner/operators participate in local and global RMHC boards.
RMHC Donation Boxes hosted in restaurants are the largest source of ongoing RMHC fundraising.
McDonald's restaurants in Northern Nevada donate proceeds from all daily Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal sales to RMHC Northern Nevada.
McDonald's conducts an annual fundraiser in November called McHappy Day. Since 2002, it has raised $170 million for RMHC and children's charities around the world.
Although McDonald's is our largest corporate donor, no company can solely fund RMHC programs. We need the support of the entire community and greatly value any support you can afford to RMHC, whether it's through cash donations, your time or fundraising efforts.
