  • Thanks for the comments John. I agree, there were a lot of folks milling around the front entry area so of oblivious to her performance not thinking about their "playground" voice volume. It really bugged me.

I eventually pulled up next to the speaker hoping to drown out the ambient noise. Of course a cheap omni-directional mic is the worst for that environment.

Stephanie and team played a long set and things settled out after a while.

  • Hi, Stephanie... First time I've seen this video. You all did a great job. Your song is a beautiful one, I always enjoy hearing you play it. Shad is a maestro on the ocean drum. I agree about the background noise... Distracting and well... Just plain rude! Kudos and love from Lily :)

  • John--Thank you for your wonderful compliment! Shadrack Sandvold, also a member of Cascadia Flute Circle, was playing an "Ocean Drum." The song, entitled "Ocean Dreaming," begins with 3 whale calls, and was written by me. We had a great time at the benefit--all of the artists were incredible, and a very worthy cause! Blessings, Stephanie, Facilitator of Cascadia Flute Circle

  • Great job Stephanie. Absolutely beautiful!

I'm very curious as to what the gentleman with the clear "drum" type instrument is doing. Very intriguing.

On a side note, I really have to voice my annoyance with people who talk loudly and laugh when someone is performing. Even in an informal setting, they could at the very least talk in a quiet voice. Grrrr.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I enjoyed it very much.

    Peace,

    John
