I just got my JM4 today along with an Egnater Rebel 30 combo amp.
I'm so stoked and havin alot of fun. Maybe I'll throw up a video or two once I get the feel for this thing and write a few grooves of my own.

Hi ..I see you say you use this in the effects loop.
Do you use the flextone`s inbuilt distortion and simply use the JM4 as a looping device?
I`m asking as I`m considering getting one for my son to use - primarily live.
He uses a Spider Valve HD100 head, and I presume if it works in the Flextone`s loop, it should do the same with the SV?

I put a dummy plug in my amp's guitar input and then put the JM4 into the return on the amp. So all tones are coming from the JM4, just made louder by the amp. Regarding live use - the JM4 can't record multiple loops on the fly (i.e. intro, verse, chorus). You just get one loop to deal with. It can be a long loop, but it's still just one loop. The Digitech Jamman has this feature though.

What do you play your JM4 through?

In this video (and usually) I play through my Line 6 Flextone III skipping it's pre-amp in the effects return.
