Me doing my Mario voice

What you hear in this video is my altogether not-too-shabby (if I do say so myself) imitation of Super Mario's voice reading my answering machine message. Granted, I've got nothing on Charles Martinet, but I still think this would be rather convincing if heard through a telephone receiver.

The inspiration?

Though my family is on the Do Not Call Registry, occasionally we do get a call from the wayward telemarketer whose company feels itself above such things as obeying the law. Caller ID usually sniffs them out, but every once in a while they get us.

I decided we needed a defense in the event that a telemarketer calls, so I spent 17.3 minutes imitating Mario's various utterances since the N64 era. Recording the result in my studio, I was rather pleased.

NOTE: I haven't actually made this the answering machine message yet; I just read the text in this voice. Similarly, the bits bleeped out are for privacy reasons, so deal with it.

The message (in case the voice is *that* bad):

Hello!
You've reached *** Enterprises or the *** residence.
Thank you so much for your call.
We're not here right now, but if you leave your name, number, and a short message, we'll get back to you at our earliest convenience.
Thank you so much.

I think I DID have a stuffy nose that day. ;)  Basically, all I was after was enough of a likeness so that I could annoy telemarketers without having to use a soundboard, as Mario only ever says about six different things.

I can talk 95% mario and luigi Since im 10% italian i can talk Wario's current voice not the one in SM land 2 commercial the obey me wario thing cuz that's hard but the Wario Ware wario sound's =D im suprised i can even mimic mario i've heard people talk like him but i consider myself the only one to sound super identical im not kidding... but the brawl mario is alittle different then the SM64 mario which i sound more like!

Well i dunno if he would answer truly Personal question's you know how serious nintendo is about using mario for question a kid wouldn't ask but i guess if he want's kid's is not THAT Person but.... i don't really think you should ask him that he usually talk's about peach his game's and related nintendo stuff....

I've heard mario talk in full sentences and i must say he sound's awesome it's in nintendo world store that interactive mario/wario were charles talks to you from far away and he chat's and stuff it's awesome i dunno wether he doe's it every day or if it's to advertise new Mario games but it is freaking cool to talk to the real mario!
