When it comes to music - the Ancient ragas are what I would term as divine music, not just classical music which to me, by definition means older music not of the contemporary era. Man-made music has no ability to move the spirit all the so called contemporary music is a random mixture of sounds without a purpose! Nature has a purpose and natural music does too to unite one with nature! If it does not, it is not music, in its truest sense.

I can see why admirers of traditional carnatic music won't like this song; but I think it's pretty good. It has kind of a jazz-fusion feel, which is appropriate--if you think about it, parts of the carnatic vocal style are almost like a more complicated version of jazz "scat" singing. Plus the rock beat makes the song contemporary. I'm sure the traditional music will survive this sort of experimentation, though...look at the way Shabana blows them away at the end!
