Oh, all that was for Montagnanaman. Yeah, that's right. "If you don't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Don't you dare say that His vibrato is vulgar ever again. I bet you His vibrato can PWN Yo-Yo Ma's vibrato anyday.
AMAZING performance by Mischa! This is one of the hardest pieces to play in my opinion, tons of people have played it but it is so very hard to put feeling and emotion into it like Mischa does. That makes a world of difference. Waaaay better then Yo-Yo Ma could ever do in my opinion!
(continued)So, then, ¿what´s your point? True artistry is in the sound, not in anybody´s face. Faces do not enhance the performances quality. And if you want a superb performance of Falla´s Fire Dance, listen (cd) to Thomas and Patrick Demenga play it. I know them and, again, no faces.
And I don't freaking care about the faces, it's all about the music. Maisky plays wonderfully, no matter WHAT you say. 'Cause it's my own opinion. So back off, scum.
To ArtificialBrains:Obviously, besides taste lessons, you need reading lessons as well. I said in my previous comments that faces DO NOT matter and that they DO NOT affect the music making. Yo-Yo Ma is my FAVORITE cellist and he puts a lot of faces, so ead and THEN critzice! And the same way you´re entilted to your own opinions, so am I to mine, so don´t tell me to shut up, jerk. There´s something called professional opinion, which you obviously lack, and there´s also freedom of speech
(cted.)Which you obviously do not respect. The difference between you and me is that I support my OPINION with arguments but you support yours with insults. But I respect everyones opinions without getting personal. Who do you think you are? What do you think you know? Manners lessons would also come in handy for you. Sooo long!
A musician can or can not show emotions while he plays, that´s not what I´m arguing about. It´s the emotions THE MUSIC project, and the quality of the performance I´m concerned about, and that´s what I don´t like about Maisky. Wether he puts faces or not, or feels certain emotions does not change the quality of his music making. Watch Starker, Perenyi or Fournier play: no faces and the music making is wonderful. Watch Yo-Yo Ma or Tortelier play: lots of faces and still wonderful playing.
Excuse me, but could you please shut up? Go criticize some other cellist; I don't care. (Except for Yo-Yo Ma) There are many good cellists around the world for you to critic about. Seriously, what is your problem? Why are you still debating on which cellists play more well than another? Are you some type of professionalist? If so, go do your job instead of impudently commenting on beautiful pieces of music.
