I heard this on Tess of the D'urbevilles and rlly wanted to know who did it coz i rlly loved it. I love this version. First time ive heard of Anne Briggs and i defo need to listen to more. I love her voice.

I was going to say everything that 'ADyingFaith' said! This is beautiful and I loved it ever since I heard it on Tess of the D'urbevilles and thought it was the most amazing singing I had ever and will ever hear!

@babygirl33ful The songs English I believe, and Briggs is as well. Tangentially related, I find that the Irish really love things that are Anglo Victorian. It seems counter intuitive, so I've wondered why. Is it get what is due any way possible after all those unfortunate years, like the so many Irish now living in England? ;)
