May I point out a link related to all 3 books suggestions you mentioned? ABRAHAM-HICKS (Esther Hicks)! Esther (Abraham-Hicks) was part of the first version of The Secret (was also a mentor for lots of the teachers on The Secret) Louise Hay (You can heal your life) is the publisher and also a follower of Abraham-Hicks.

SETH books is what lead Esther to channel Abraham (with the help of her husband) Looking for answers??...Ask and it shall be given... Seek and ye shall find... IT IS SO TRUE :)

I think you did a wonderful job explaining what Seth Speak is about(2:19-3:10) and (4:20-4:33). Very impressive. Don't doubt yourself so much. You are very bright and funny.

The three books that you mentioned are all good. I think, however, that anyone would be better off reading the Abraham Hicks books (The Vortex, Money and Law of Attraction; The Amazing Power of Emotions, etc.) instead of "The Secret." "The Secret" is very general about the Law of Attraction, as opposed to the Abraham Hicks books which have a lot more information.

@lithopoonwit Respectfully I'd like to remind you that all religious books were channeled by the prophets. The thing is that in the past they used the term "inspired by God" now we use the term "channeled" and for most Christians this term has a negative connotation.

NotYourAverageONe, a quick but very important correction. You say (1:16) "Jane Roberts was channeled by a guy named Seth." Not true. Jane Roberts was a writer/psychic who channeled a personality name Seth. The Seth books have inspired many writers including Esther Hicks, Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, even Oprah Winfrey admitted on her radio show (while interviewing Esther Hicks) that she had read all the Seth books. "Seth Speaks" and "The Nature of Personal Reality" are highly recommended.

Let me add that,like Devon, we are all living under a political, social and economic structure that is bound to affect our sense of self and if you want to know the depth of this problem go see the documentary "Zeitgeist: Addendum" which is free online. Then go see "The Century of the Self" which is also free. Once you see these documentaries, you'll know just how we've been duped and how the monetary system is dehumanizing all of us.

Let me add more books by Karen Horney (pronounced horn-eye): 1st book "Our Inner Conflicts" 2 "Neurosis and Human Growth" and 3 "The Neurotic Personality of our Time" Don't let the word neurotic discourage you from reading these books. Dr. Horney's style of writing is unlike others book with psychological jargon and brings to awareness aspects of ourselves that are truly transformational- the kind of knowledge not found in college

I admire you for trying to explain the seth book. Its hard because people just dont talk like that do they. You should also read the seth material , paticularly the god concept. Burp for now...Im mean bye for now
