300 has great CGI effects. but in apocalypto, almost everything is real, built in original-size sets. 300 is still a nice movie but apocalypto is my favourite of them, it's a great movie.

I'll put it this way: The Aztecs met Cortes, the Inca met Pizarro,(Conquistadors) but The Mayans never directly encountered the Spaniards. Their main villages were emptied Before the Spaniards ever arrived. You can look it up, there's no record of direct Mayan/Spaniard conflict ^^

No, the Mayan civilization was abandoned/empty B/C of internal warefare, and the diminishing of resources. A few might have survived through that, but the main cities(As shown in the movie) were definitely emptied before the Spaniards took over New Spain(Mexico).

The Mayan civilization and their language still exists today. They haven't died out.

everyone's saying 300 is historically inaccurate, BUT in Apocalypto, the Mayans met the spaniards at the end...but in real life, the Mayans died out before the spaniards arrived.
personally, I don't care, I still love Apocalypto more than 300, but 300 has awesome special effects ^___^

people say 300 was a bad movie because it was historicaly incorrect, tbrh who gives a crap, if a films enjoyable, then its a good movie, not crap, and apocalypto was good but also dragged on a bit too much, instead of 2 hours it could of easily been condesned into an hour and 20 mins

300 lacks historical accuracy
and exaggarates alot like the elphants size.
but apocalypto is really accurate and has big sets like the pyramids and sacrafising
