Grant was way too old at 58. That’s when Roger Moore started getting criticism for being too old, and decided to retire from the role. Even Moore has stated that he now regrets staying on that long.

Hitchock's films are great but "Charade" was better then "To Catch a Thief". Offcourse they both got nothing on "North by Northwest".

sean would never let a girl get her hooks in him

If you want to talk about "getting emotional", don't forget about George Lazenby's 007 in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The end scene when he discovers what happened to Tracy is a total "tear-jerker". OK, he is human; but can you see Sean Connery doing that?

i am judging him by equivalent scenes

the technology thing was added because of the times. sci fi was big, we were racing to the moon etc

yes, it diluted bond's dependency on his wits but the weapons had to be used in a witty way

the times are what finally killed bond

the new gay model looking deeply emotional 90% CGI action scenes Bond is completely opposite of what bond is about, he may as well be spiderman with a british accent

Cary Grant certainly has the class and the suave, but are you not also judging what a movie would look like based on others? The decision to have Q branch arm him with a host of high tech gadgets was what changed him from Ian Fleming's original character. James Bond is a 00. He stayed alive by his wits, but maintained his status through kills. If he was just about wits, he would be in intelligence-gathering or a desk job.

you can't judge what a movie would look like based on what another looks like

Cary Grant did a great job of being a spy fighting action guy in North by Northwest

More importantly, he has the class and suaverity that Ian Fleming envisioned. Bond was never supposed to be an ersatz superman. he won by his wits

All the scenes used were from Cary Grant's later movies. And I saw no fight scenes or car chase scenes. In the fights, he seemed mostly trying to defend himself-not what you want from someone with a "license to kill". The car chase scenes were actually "car being followed" scenes and what of the scenes of him in pursuit? Cary Grant's Bond would look more like Roger Moore's portrayal, than that of Sean Connery.

Would've been cool, but then what would Sean Connery be known as? Zardoz?
