@Box134 Often in the 80's they used videotape (usually 1"Type C or 2" Quad). Since they were open-reel, anything falling on either the head, or the reels, cold make this happen. Also, since these machines were in heavy use, they did not always get the cleaning they need...and tapejams happen

@pancakeman22 It was a TV station in Winnipeg, Canada up until the late 90's when it was changed to the name Global.

I think they used an actual film print to televise a movie in those days by using a telecine. Since a projector was involved, you had the inevitable film jams requiring someone to physically put it right. You never see those interruptions today. Nowadays we get pixelization with digital video.
