I have also too a RC 80, in process of restoration. Fortunately this turntable are in very excellent conditions; only needs the center spindle and the little belts. I'd put a new Pickering stereo cartridge and stylus, and a new carpet in plate. Automatic operation are woking so good.
I heard this model in a cover of Stanley Black's record: "Red Velvet". Here appears a RC 78, very similar like RC 80.
I love Garrard antique turntables! :D

dipicapue, did you upgraded the old mono cartridge to stereo cart? i notice you have this unit hooked to a stereo amplifier.

Yes , I upgraded to RC 88 shell and stereo cartridge .
