  • That must be old cuz i go thar and thay only have

1 and it is not in this video.

  • we have all of these but they only come out for a little while during December and January.

  • Boffo! Thanks for this video, I am a big fan of Emett's mobiles and cartoons. He should be MUCH better known! There was a big machine at Spitalfields, London. This was thrown away a few years ago, but luckily it was rescued and re-built

  • thanks! we'll be putting these on display again soon. i should post a higher res clip now that youtube supports it.

  • thanks for posting! i remember seeing 2 emmett machines at the smithsonian air and space museum as a kid---- pussiewillow II and MAUD. unfortunately, the one in the smithsonian is in permanent storage.

  • : ) they do take a lot of maintenance. we'll be dusting ours off very soon for their annual holiday display.

  • The Ontario Science Centre is forced to have a nonsense display of the contributions of non-White scientists. They ended up including Chinese acupuncture and says qi is an "energy force" around the body (what? they put this down in a SCIENCE MUSEUM?) and that the Polynesians discovered stellar navigation by comparing star positions IN RELATION TO ISLANDS (not needed if you can see landmarks; James Harrison made a naval clock to find longitude out of sight of land, 1700).

  • Thanks for posting! I visited the OSC when I was 6, and the Toot Sweet machine was tucked away in a corner... it is my most vivid memory from the visit. I always sort of wondered if I had made it up, having been so young and having never returned to Toronto.

  • love it, no wonder they picked him to do chitty chitty bang bang!

  • that's great! (i think ontario center has the MAUD machine-- if you could post that with your collection :-)
