Trying to diagnose a exhaust manifold leak; the sound in the video appears to be coming from cylinder number 4. Sound will go away when engine is warmed up however.

  • I have the same tick on my 2.0t engine, did u find the leak?

  • @bobe843 yea it was cylinder 4's exhaust manifold gasket leaking; but i just tightened the manifold up and it went away :)

  • @BlkSerialKilla Did u your car had any error code?

  • @bobe843 my car did have a unrelated code of a p0015 at the time which was for the VVT solenoid

  • @BlkSerialKilla Damn! I was missing 2 bolts on the right side, and one on the most right was loose like 2 cm!

Thank you, i was puzzled buy the sound and thought it was valve lifter!

  • @bobe843 no prob, mine were loose on the right side too and I was so relieved to know it wasn't valve tick anymore =) just make sure you are using stainless bolts on those threads, I had to use 2 stainless bolts and a washer to make things fit nicely
