I don't understand how you take these as insults. Is any form of critiquing seen as a personal insult in this day and age? Feel free to take this one as an insult: don't be so thin skinned. The general gist of my point was nothing like that, and I'm insulted that you would put those words in my mouth. The gist of my point is that the current welfare/unemployment/etc. programs we have in place are more that sufficient, and that rather than give these people more money, we explore space

If you received my comment as an insult, then is it not correct for me to believe yours was intended as an insult as well? Your sweeping generalizations of Americans amuse me. Interesting that you seem to have the average American pinned so well, yet you aren't even from here and likely have never spent an extended amount of time here. Generalizations are for the ignorant.

@foshooooooo They might have the same mission statement, perhaps, but only Americans try to insult others by guessing their political choices. :P I can't see what my choices in who I vote for, be it them or someone else, has to do with my desire to make sure that all my neighbours are clothed, fed and healthy.
