The best character on the show...

Despite only appearing in a couple scenes thus far, from what I've read this guy is receiving nothing but praise. He deserves it, too! Richard is one of the most original and, more importantly, interesting characters out there. Killing him off would be ridiculous; the possibilities of quality plot lines he could lead are never ending.

Richard is an incredibly deep soul who is very wounded inside and out, but he can also be like a machine, a killing machine who is deadly effective. That's what makes him such an interesting character. He's so fragile emotionally, I'm not sure what Jimmy's death will do to him.

I don't think they'll kill him off any time soon. That would defeat the purpose of his character. The whole point in Richard is that he must live with his physical and emotional scars suffered in the war. He is a perfect representative of the negative effects of WWI on its veterans.

I think that one of the draws people have to the character Richard Harrow, is not only the sense of tragedy about him, but also, despite the ruthless way in which he dispatches people, there is a profound sense of loneliness and innocence about him... as if deep inside that troubled mine is something pure and innocent that shines through at times. He is a man who longs to be loved by someone, and such, a character many viewers (who are single) can identify with.

if they kill this guy off, my theory is because jack huston will end up having to go work on a movie or something that's probably a better career move for him rather than being this character on boardwalk empire. he's my favorite character on the show as well T-T
