Dec. 2, 2010 - The Senate Armed Services Committee met today to receive testimony on the report of the Department of Defense Working Group that conducted a comprehensive review of the issues associated with a repeal of section 654 of title 10, United States Code, "Policy Concerning Homosexuality in the Armed Forces," the policy commonly known as "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

There are a lot of people who can’t serve in the military. It is not a right, it is an honor. Don’t change don’t ask don’t tell; the Air Force, Marines, and the Army know it will hurt the mission capability. Take another poll of the military members; I don’t know who took the poll or who they talked to but the military members I talked to don’t know of anyone who took the poll. There are a lot of great workers that are overweight too, but they can’t work in the military.

Thank you, Senator McCaskill, for your determination, persistence and respectful leadership on many issues, and particularly on DADT reapeal. You rock! Go, Senator! :-)
