Here I am playing Steve Hackett from Genesis' intro to the song Blood on the Rooftops from the album Wind and the Wuthering. I'm not a professional and I'm no expert. I'm just an amateur doing what I love to do. :)

  • This intro is a marvellous piece of guitar music. I used to play it myself several years ago (learned it by ear). Your version is beautiful.

Did you consider doing a full cover, like you did for several other Genesis classics? I'd be quite interested to see and hear that!

By the way, Steve Hackett still seems very fond of this piece: he regularly includes it in his live concerts. I just recently enjoyed the fine version on his very latest live DVD (very enjoyable concert of the grat man)!

  • @earlofmar11 Thanks for the comment, earlofmar. The full version is always a possibility somewhere down the road. So many song, so little time. Thanks again!

  • One of the best - if not THE best versions of this brilliant tune on You Tube .Please tell me , are you one of these lucky people who picked it up by ear or did you use Tabs ? If so which ones.

    All the best...Dave

  • @marillion1 Thanks for the kind words, marillion1! I learned this back in the 90's, I beleive I used tab at the time, but I have no idea which one I used.

  • awesome!!!!

  • @belgrade1997 Thanks, belgrade1997!

  • this was awesome !! Love your playing, just too bad your recording is a tad noisy. I'm looking forward to the day I'll be able to play this song too, still strugling with Horizon's !

I think Wind ... is by far the best album of the post-Gabriel era. Would you say Blood's intro is harder or easier than Horizon's ?
