Psalm Tours, in cooperation with the Parish of Holy Katoghikeh Church in Jervezh (Diocese of Kotayk), "Saghmos" Choir and "Biurakn" Ethnographic Ensemble organized the celebration of the feast of Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the Temple (the Meeting of the Lord) and the World Day of Orthodox Youth.
The Presentation of the Lord is one of the fixed feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church, celebrated on February 14, forty days after Theophany, commemorating our Lord's presentation to the temple by Mother Mary and Joseph on the fortieth day after His birth.
Syndesmos -- the World Fellowship of Orthodox Youth celebrates the World Day of Orthodox Youth at this feast.
The celebration started with a sermon by Father Kiuregh, Church Parish Priest, and continued with traditional dancing around the burning fire, followed by warming up the spirits in the Parish House.
Following the old tradition each family took a lighted candle to their homes, which symbolizes spreading of the light of Jesus.
This event stressed once again the great meaning of the feast and celebrations, their vitality today and the uniting importance of it. Many pilgrims joined the event. The Psalm Tours team and many other present young people were blessed. A special attention was given to the Syndesmos Day and the Orthodox Youth all over the world.
