  • Pretty good box jump height for a female athlete though. Kudos to her!

  • If reactive isn't the goal, like it seems to be here though (as she's placing her feet pretty softly), I agree that rolling back doesn't seem to be doing much. Just starting seated and generating power from a static position seems like it would be better.

  • IMO, it's better when done reactively, rolling back slightly on the box with the knees preflexed and then extending immediately as you stomp the feet into the ground. Same idea as a depth jump, but from a seated position. (The sitting box should be a bit higher though.)

  • IMvHO, that roll back onto the box isn't helping anyone's explosiveness. Generally, the idea of a box squat is to practice explosiveness out of the hole, not to use the momentum from body rocking to roll off of the box. If these were done with a specific purpose in mind, let me know.
