The trick is to fish the dark area around the lights. Any lure or bait in the glow itself is going to be illuminated so well that the fish get too good of a look and often don't hit. While a lot of the smaller fish will feed directly in the light, the big boys are usually hanging in the shadow.

I actually caught a small tarpon about two weeks ago at one of these lights. So thats one fish for about 100 tries, not too great.

fish never hit around those things though. its a huge blue baller.
