Zelda OoT 3D: Hylian Loach Caught!

Yeah, I know the vid quality isn't good since I was forced to use my camera's movie mode and film one-handed, so I couldn't film the actual reeling it in. At least I was able to do a sound capture with my computer for handing the fish in, so the sound is decent even if I forgot to turn the volume on my 3DS right up before I recorded it.

But anyway... MY FIRST HYLIAN LOACH!! I am guilty to admit I never went to the effort of catching one in any of the original game or the GC and VC ports, but now I have!

Runs off to see if can catch another :D

I've caught a 21 Pound fish with the normal lure before, back on the N64. It took me about 5 minutes to reel the bugger in. Ah, good times :D

@AlaiaSkyhawk Hey , Do you have any tips for reeling fish in? I always get them to bite but I always lose em and any tips on getting the Loach to bite??

@helloworld274 I always pull opposite the way they swim, and when they jump out of the water quickly change direction to knock them off balance and back below the surface.

As for getting the loach to bite, there are LOADS of walkthrough vids about it here on youtube :)

Do you have to get the golden scale first by catching a 14 pounder so that the sinking lure spawns at the 4 possible spots or can you just look for the sinking lure straight away? How did you go about catching it? I heard that unlike when you're young Link when you're an adult you have to get the golden scale first before the lure spawns which makes catching the Hylian Loach far, far easier. Don't know what to believe.

@FibrousAcquiescence Yeah, the lure doesn't spawn until you've won the Heartpiece (child) and Golden Scale (adult) You can make the lure legal by talking to the owner after getting it and select "talk about something"

It's found in 4 places:

On the partially sunken log

In the stream

Walking on top of the three rocks where the stream joins the pond

Scraping the whole edge of the area

@helloworld274 also, many people tell you to hold R while you reel in but it is worse than just holding A. holding R makes it more likely to lose you fish.

of course, you gotta be aiming to the center of the pound, not the loach itself, oh and also, you can be sure it worked by one simple thing, if it worked, you will be able to z target the loach :)
