This is my method to learn the names and note location on the guitar for my students. I send my students here before we start so I know they have this skill underway. I hope it helps you.

  • OMG!!! Guy, your 3pt series ROCKS.. I've had my guitar abt 3mos.. I started out tk'n formal lessons & ended up quitting.. I felt like I was only paying for the priviledge to say I was tk'n guitar lessons, b'cuz I wsn't learning anything.. I got bored & sat my guitar & amp in the corner to collect dust. Just earlier 2day, I happen to come across your videos, & got my excitement back.. 3 hrs later, I have mastered the C, D, & B's, & am having fun doing so.. Thanks Guy..

  • Going to learn all the notes and their positions on the guitar fret board by this time next week and post a video response to Cirqueduguitar to demonstrate I can do it and to say thanks for the tutorials.

  • A daunting task easily learned. Thanks!

  • FUCK LEARNING ITS TIME 2 JAMM IT

  • what a brillint way to learn the notes, i was doing the single string thing and never thought of learning the natural notes on each string first!!!!! amazing

  • Now that I think of it, this is how my junior high band teacher taught me to learn the notes on trombone all those years ago. Makes total sense. Thanks.

  • this was by far the easiest and most fun way to learn note names on the fretboard

it actually becomes very simple if you learn it this way

  • dude yes this is exactly the training i need to completel my playing thx a million!!

  • I couldn't see the dots. I'm lost.

  • Ive been playing all these years relying on shapes and not knowing individual notes... Think Im gonna sit down and learn em all now... Thanks for the lesson...

  • Or you just make flash cards of the fretboard with each of the notes you wanna learn. This way you learn the notes like the open strings...no needing associasions with other notes....you see 10 fret second string and you know is A immediatelly without even thinking about B being in the 12 fret. You can do it by yourself or with software programs that test you randomly. You cant go wrong with this method.

  • I feel guitar lessons are a waste you can just as easily teach yourself anything and being able to use multiple resources ensures that you arent just getting one approach to a certain lesson. Keep searching and reading until you understand. Ive played for 6 years know so much theory and can play a variety yet I havent learned to "quickly" find every note. Deffinietly a good watch. Thanks
