militant athiest, thats funny, let me guess next youre gonna say that atheist are preaching no god everywhere and that youre the victim of opression. when you see a athiest missonary building on every other corner like churches then you can play the victim. till then grow up and as to morals, ive been told that because i dont follow the bible im immoral so dont play that angle either.

Personally I find it a bit rich that Dennet feels agrieved at being hammered by believers that were rude and insulting. The YouTube circle of militant atheists of which there are many, base the whole of their argument on mockery and insults, you only need to check the comments page on Pat Condells channel to verify that. I can understand their frustration when members of the God squad constantly bombard them with scripture, but denegrating people is counter productive.

They make a good point, about losing faith. The same thing happened to me. It was a hard pill to swallow, but in a way, I felt like I knew it the whole time, but just wasn't ready to accept it. Now I can really say that I've been saved, from religion.

"The word of Christ came before every individual race of people."
WHAT?!?! first of all, the word of christ as you put it didn't come until the new testament. second of all, there were tons of religions before judaism and it's children(christianity, islam) were ever even thought of. and judaism and christianity ripped them off! ever heard of zoroastrianism, or the cult of mithra? read up on it.

Once u take a step back and look at the religious views people hold today, u cant help but laugh at how obsurd irrational and plain stupid people are. Ud think with all our science and technology by now we would leave behind such primitive practices. As Einstein said "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former". This is very true today.

I must disagree with you on your argument that religion is less of a problem than political ideology, nationalism, or bad science. Firstly all of those things are closely tied to religion in many parts of the world. Furthermore, as the "four horsemen" articulate in this first video, religion, unlike those other negatives, is usually exempt from criticism. Nationalism, political ideology, and bad science aren't afforded the same kind of protection and are therefore, in my opinion, less dangerous.

I agree with you to a point, rivalviral. One's religion should be left alone unless they bother someone else with it. Religion is, however, pushed on non-theists all the time. Whether is is putting "evolution is just a theory" stickers on high school text books, arguing against a woman's right to choose, speaking out against homosexuals, or teaching that condoms don't prevent STDs (the list could go on), many believers try to force their dogmatic and unfounded ideas on non-believers.

Sure they do, they think they have the moral superiority.
