Keith Holt on Milwaukee Bicycle Works talks about the important role of access to bike shops in encouraging bicycling. Interview at Rails-to-Trails Conservancy's Urban Pathways Initiative Summit in May 2011 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Well done, Keith! I especially like your point of separating low-income issues from communities of color issues, since there are distinct culture, access, and perception differences. I just co-presented with Antonio Rosell, a Minneapolis consultant, and Ed Ewing from Seattle and Anthony Taylor from Minneapolis at the national Safe Routes to School conference - they were all phenomenal speakers and Ed and Anthony talked about how Major Taylor programs are growing, up to 40 chapters in the US now!
Good work Keith! Bikes can make peoples' lives better in so many ways; economically, environmentally, socially, and better health. This is a force of good that needs to be supported by all of us!
