Footage and history of the Pigeon house at Alton Towers built in the 1840's (partly designed by A.W.N Pugin). This is a little known feature and area that 1000's of visitors walk around the vicinity of every day that the park is open without realising that it's there. A clear-up of the area was done c2007 but the area has once again overgrown in recent times. This area once housed a small zoo. Also in this courtyard area is "Her ladyships oratory" which was recently partially destroyed and then rebuilt. See AltonTowersMemories.net for more Alton Towers heritage : )

  • thanks!!!

  • Another part of Alton Towers that almost nobody knows exists! I must have walked past it hundreds of times but I never noticed it peering through the trees.
