TKG Longtime Client Focus - Akron Canton Airport

From the moment we opened our doors, we really wanted to work with the Akron Canton Airport (CAK). We'd been longtime admirers of their forward-thinking vision for not just the airport, but the entire Akron/Canton region. What other medium-sized community with a city the size of Cleveland just an hour up the road, can boast its own low-cost carriers (AirTran and Frontier) along with several other major airlines? Not to mention the lowest average fare in Ohio?

CAK embodies the many positive things happening in the region. Their's is the type of story that is too often overlooked by the media in favor of all the negative economic assessments of Northeast Ohio. CAK wants no part of the doom-and-gloom, and we feel the same way.

Just talk to Kristie Van Auken, CAK's Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, and you'll quickly see that they're not the least bit intimidated about having Cleveland right up the road. In fact, they seem to relish the challenge and competition, as well as the opportunity to tell you exactly why CAK is "the better way to go."

You can see why it was a huge honor for us to be selected to redesign CAK's website in 2005. The new site was, in many ways, ahead of its time. Besides doing a great job of visually communicating the airport's advantages (shorter lines, low fares, smaller crowds, convenient parking), it also included innovative features like a blog portal. CAK was actually the first airport in the country to have a blog (three blogs, actually!).

Fast forward four years, and CAK is still on the cutting edge, having embraced Web 2.0 online communities like Facebook and Twitter. We're so proud to have CAK as our next door neighbor (literally!), and we look forward to working with them on web projects well into the future.
