Speech ( EN) EU Commissioner in charge of Enlargement, Olli Rehn:
" In the exceptional and well justified cases, the EU may agree for transitional measures allowing some EU rules to entering to force sometime after access. • Welcome, Icelanders, to our Union

  • i believe the financial crisis here was deliberatly made worse to force us (icelandic people) to vote for EU membership. Before the crisis no one dared to seriously bring up the subject of joining. in the 12 century the Norwegian king funded 2 opposing factions wich led to civil war. Finally the war weary Icelanders willingly gave up theyre independence to Norway. - Divide and Conquer -

  • So - the country with the oldest political institution in the world signs up for the half -baked EU, a sorry day . Still they still have a nice lot of fish which we can grab .

  • Oh shut up prakkari.

  • Polls show that over 70% of the nation is against EU membership. Those people will take action in due time, rest asure. There are allready demands on withdrawing the application process. EU is not a union of nations, it is a new form of colonnialism, with the big ones in charge. This criminal syndicate is a disgrase to democracy. Small nations are all ready going down the drain inside the union without any effort to help them out. Globalisation is not the idealogy of equality. It,s neo fasism

  • iceland was in the plus until a bank of england froze the account.

    you wont pay any dept.

because you are soon to be out of work.

and by taking the euro your dept becomes our dept

  • "The financial crisis might even have been made just to lure your country into the EU"

Were you taking some drugs while writing that comment. The financial crisis was made by OURSELVES, by reckless spending. And the party in power at the time was totally against EU membership so there goes that theory of yours.

Leave our debt in EU, what the hell are you talking about, do you pay UK debt, of course not. We will pay our own debt. And the lisbon treaty will ALREADY been accepted BEFORE we join.
