Great lyrics. Fits the situation in Oslo, Norway as it is now. The song tells a lot about my feelings as I walked in the city center after the explosion on Friday, 22/07/2011.

In Peter Carlin's bio "Bruce", he tells of Bruce on the day 9/11 happened. He'd just carpooled the kids to school and sat down to his cereal when someone called about it. He drove as far as he needed to see what remained of the towers and the chaos, got out of the Rover and watched. Someone drove by and yelled, "We NEED you, Bruce". He began writing and thus, "The Rising". We are fortunate we have someone so....gifted? hardly does it justice...who can give voice to our collective emotions.
