This brings back memories. This was one of my first video game experiences, at my best friend's house when I was five.

Hey dipshit. There was a building in the bottom right that was flashing the entire time. Ya don't suppose that had something to do with your mission! Don't bother reviewing a game when you clearly don't even know what the hell you're supposed to do.

Did you have an Amstrad as a kid? I had this myself, loved it, though didn't get anwwhere with it until I got the Master System version.

The reason you ran out of traps is because you didn't buy enough to begin with.
The reason for "tagging" the ghosts is because that's what you get in that driving section, if you tag none you get none, if you let them all congregate at Zuul you get Marshmellow Man turn up and cause trouble.
With the Key and Lock, you have to wait for them to get to Zuul as far as I remember.
So not knowing how to play the game may have skewed your rating. Not that the game is great or anything, but it is good
