At 5 p.m. on Feb 4, 2010 an official gov't media release announced Harper's stop in Saskatoon on Feb. 5th, to speak to the Sk Party caucus at the Bessborough Hotel.

In 18 hours, the Saskatoon chapter of CAPP, Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament, organized their third rally of the year in protest of prime minister Harper's dismantling of Parliament, and of the disappearing middle class, which is still occurring at a rampant rate.

Why do corporations have the need or power to pay less in taxes than the average Canadian citizen? How is it fair, or okay with the average Canadian citizen that the CEOs and corporate executives are paid grandiose wages and bonuses and kick backs and pensions or buy out plans, and the average Canadian citizen is stuck with job cutbacks or job losses, ever-increasing workloads, average pay that borderlines on the poverty line, and lost pensions that were devoured by the greed of a few?

Approximately 100 people came to the gathering place across the street from the Bessborough that icy cold day in February. Thats as close to the hotel as the group were allowed to rally.

While Harper did oblige assorted photo opportunities, including one with hockey legends Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky, the prime minister did not, however address the people outside the hotel.
Congratulations to all the activists who keep us proud to call ourselves Canadian.

To the Gentleman who chose to protest singularly: Your courage and determination shows that one person can indeed make a statement - you are especially to be commended for standing up for Democracy.

  • why dont u damn hippys leave poor Harper alone?

  • @noobdestroyer1223

As soon as he starts acting like a prime minister of an actual democracy, we'll see.

  • EXCELLENT Video - Typically ignoring democratic voice, Harper is extremely lucky there weren't 500 people ..... a rally organized in 18 hours with over 100 concerned Canadians is overwhelming. Harper needs to tread very carefully over the next few months and listen to the people.

  • @modusoper Thanks!

And who said nothing ever goes on in SK...
