In this video I stream in a video from Youtube into a pdf. You can add video to a pdf in a couple of different ways, and I explain both of them in this video

  • Does the video only come up, after saving it, if you are reading the file again in acrobat pro? In other PDF readers it dosen't seem to be appearing?

  • @Uphamisim great question.. I've actually never tried it in any other pdf reader, since although acrobat 9 was a bit pricey when I bought it, 99% of people that I would need to send a file to already had or could easily download the acrobat reader for free... which program do you use?

  • I am on a mac and I am having the SAME problems as everyone else. I have done all of the stated things right. Is there any reason for this not working?

  • @NikWestBass If you're talking about the "iframe" embed code that youtube has added.. do not use that at all... make sure you have checked "use old embed code" in the options box for embedding, copy that code, then follow the steps in the video

  • I found your tutorial to be very helpful.. However, I am experiencing the same problem as discussed by 'curaservices' last week. I have verified the three check points. There must be one minor oversight. It works when I browse and insert video from my computer, but this embedding technique just gets me this white frame. The only thing I can see that's different is the embed code is different now than it was when you created the tutorial. Can you test the new code and see if it still work? Thx

  • @GnattyNhat If you've embedded the vid the right way, it will appear as a black box with white in the middle within your pdf.. then you just click to activate.. but you can add a "thumbnail" picture to the video if you want.. just open the pdf up in acrobat 9 pro (not reader), right click and hit "properties" - next under "launch settings" choose "create a poster from file" and choose a picture from your computer... (best to take a screen capture of the video)

  • Thank you so much for this. One more question though: When I saved, the video doesn't show up. Is there a reason why?

  • @curaservices i had the same problem at first.. make sure 1. you have acrobat nine, 2. you copy the entire url within the quotes of the embed code, not just the url of the video, 3. you add .swf to the video.. if you do those three things, it should work every time..

  • Hey, thanks for this video. I have followed all of the steps but what has come up is a blank white box in the video box. I cant see the youtube clip - any ideas what could be causing this?
