This tutorial will show you how to create an afghan that has waves. It is also known as Ripple or Chevrons. I teach you what the stitch counts are to size up this project to best suit your needs. You don't need to email me to ask the stitch counts. Simple think of the sets I tell you and measure out what you need with the stitch sets. Link to this written pattern is available at http://thecrochetcrowd.com/baby-lazy-wave-afghan.html

  • I am having to same problem when coming to the end. I end up at the top of my chain 3, is that where I need to do the double crochet. Then do the 3 chain up again? Please help, I don't want to do it wrong.

    I love your tutorials!!

  • @skmiedema99 When you come to the end of your row you chain up 3 then in the same stitch under it make a dbl crochet to make two stitches together and then carry on with the pattern :) does that help?? Cathy@The Crochet Crowd Helpdesk :)

  • One other thing that I just noticed is that on the video, we add 3 for the 1st double crochet; on the written version, we only add 2.

  • @Mommomkeller OH MY... I made the correction.. thanks for noticing that,.

  • I am having trouble using the Bernat baby coordinates yarn. It is beautiful, but very hard to see the stitches. They all seem to run together because of the shiny strand wound in the yarn. Am I crazy or is this happening to anyone else also?

  • I made a queen size afghan using four different colors from your tutorial. it came out great!!! You rock!!!

  • wow ty so much up till know i only knew how to crochet a granny square thanks for making this look so easy have you any more videos?

  • @mikeyssmail No problem!

  • WOOHOOO! I had to rip mine starting row about 4 times before I finally got the downward part of the wave... I don't know what my mental block was, but THANK HEAVENS for this video!! I think I finally have it! Well, I have the starting row... heaven only knows how many times I'll have to rip back the next one! LOL! Thanks, Mikey, for all of the great videos!!!
