  • That is exactly what I'm hoping for. The total weight even with another hamstick dipole or two won't exceed the weight of what some of the tv antennas weigh. The mass and wind load should also be much less.

  • What kind of bandwidth do you get with your hamstick dipoles? I made one with 2 Workman WHF 40's and have a decent SWR over about 30 kHz. My 4nec2 model confirms that result on Modeling Commercial Antennas on my qsl.net site. It is a convenient compact antenna but works efficiently only over a narrow band of frequencies.

  • I bet a lighter weight rotor would do a fine job from the basement on that dipole.

    Field day should be fun, I am hoping to attend field day with our local club for the first time in probably 15 years. It has been a while for me as well.
