Thanks for the vid , I was wondering about those kits at Harbor Freight ,I have a couple panels I got from Nothern Tool , they work pretty good , 30 watt total output , excellent for charging batteries, at my cabin , convert to 110 for lights and a fan plus my laptop , cell phone charger . You would be amazed at how little energy you really need if you get back to basic needs .Lights are a big deal for me , coil type flouesent 13 watt in basic lamps, ( 60 w ) way to go .Thanks again !

@minbound right on... well the panel is nearly 4 amps at 12 volts so i was just wondering if you could connect several of the pannels up to that single controler... there may be some info to that regard under the controler that has amx input and output in amps... if you have a chance have a look see. thanks brother man, hope your having a good weekend!
How many Marine batteries can this realistically charge, and how fast? Could you use it to keep a refrigerator running, or is it really only for lights and recharging electronics? It looks pretty cool.

@docsimonson marine batteries aren't really the optimum ones to use for solar systems the 6V gold cart batteries are because the hold a better charge and give more amp hours. I am trying to pick up two on Craigslist this weekend they are Trojan 6V T-145, 530 Min @25Amps, 145 Min @75Amps, 260AH @20Amps, 72 Lbs then a 7 amp charge controller and as big a inverter as I can get but nothing less than a 1000w. Check out OBXSolwind's channel & Fubarprotocol they can probably answer this question better

@minbound Try Sams Club. My batteries are Energizer 6volt EGC2 golf cart batteries, 105 min at 220 amp/hours each. Cost is about $75 each and they are going on 3 years old now without a hitch.

@skippy3840 Thanks found some on CL, 6V Titan T-145's 260amh@20Amps:) Should work fine for what I'm trying to accomplish. Will give that a shot as a fall back though. Take care.

I'm not too certain, but I heard somewhere that you have to "burn in" those panels for awhile before using them. I'm trying to remember which YT channel I heard it on, or whether it's a valid statement, but just thought I would put that out there.

@SultanOfShinola It was Grayv's channel and yes it is a true statement. This was just a quick test just to show folks how simple this system is to use. Take care.
