I am stumped! ive resolved my own problems twice, but i cant figure out whats wrong this time...now at random times my touch screen acts up and i have to lock my phone and unlock it for it to work again. One of the main things that happens to is when i have a drawing app out and draw horizontally about 3/4ths up the phone there is an area that cant be written on! any ideas?

@djick31 Sounds unlikely to be the cause. Does it click down at all - can you hear it clicking? Or does it feel like it is already being pressed in?

I want to add to my previous comment...while not having a screw driver small enough to screw in the two screws on the green plate, I used this random screwdriver I found which didn't twist it all the way. After getting to the red plate, where I would screw in the 4 other screws, I couldn't fit the bottom left/ top right screw in. Could this be a reason why the joystick isn't working? Thank you so much!

Repairs universe I have just come among another problem, I was using my camera on my incredible and I can't click the optical joystick...it works when sliding through pages but not when clicking it, any idea on why this could be?
I have a question. My 3 year old cousin dropped my Incredible causing my screen to crack. When I turned it on, I could still hear it, but couldn't see anything at all. Will removing the LCD screen help me be able to see it again? or will I have to buy another one? If so, how much would it cost & where can I buy it from?

@NDCBADDEST If the display is black it means there is either a connection issue or damage to the LCD screen. Is the "crack" on the screen on the outer glass screen, or inner display screen?
I would suggest checking the LCD connection. If it is seated properly, a LCD replacement would be the next step. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

I redid the whole process and took out the trackpad...then put it back on and it works! Thanks for your time, hopefully this will be my last post:)

@djick31 Great! Sounds like just a bad connection originally. Glad the issue was resolved!

@djick31 The circuitry under the trackpad is what will control the clicks. This is leading me to believe there is either something wrong with the trackpad itself, or the connection. May want to examine the trackpad and see if there is any damage like a rip in the flex, etc. If it does not function after reseating the connection, I would suggest replacing it.
