struggling to recall a point Parenti made that wasnt shown up as unfounded... how did he "insult" the woman..? when she was pushed for more was found to clearly not know what she was talking about. i love Parenti's rambling about the US being 3rd world at the turn of the century... pure class. what video were u watching...?

Wow. Hitchens is a douche. Takes him almost the whole time, but he does end up acting up in a completely immature, socially unacceptable way, insulting the woman and attacking the audience. Unbelievable.

I guess i have missed some kind of sarcasm trend when i read the replies here..

Many Finnish people also used to demonstrate against american weapons and for soviet weapons in the 70s and 80s.

Hitchens was a drunken, conceited, bloviating fool. Parenti talks facts and Hitchens jerks off to his own voice.

Hitchens makes a decent point but ultimately Parenti is correct as to why these interventions are being conducted. Hitchens as a Marxist should be ashamed of how the middle and lower class have had to foot the bill on these wars while the rich have been allowed to profit from these conflicts. He was also a dick to the young lady. What's interesting here is that Hitchens will changes his tune about Iran in the last few years before his death and really pushed toward intervening in there.

Parenti basically slammed Hitchens when he told him that regardless of what reasons Hitchens thought we should have adopted for going to war, that those weren't the reasons that are gov't was going in.
Hitchens acted like a child in this debate. Parenti wins.

Parenti won this debate.
Shame on Hitchens for supporting such a war.
