IS NON-VEGETARIAN FOOD PERMITTED OR PROHIBITED FOR A HUMAN BEING?
Between Dr. Zakir Naik and Mr. Rashmibhai Zaveri
(Patkar Hall, Mumbai, India, 9th May, 1999)

Let us first analyze the Religious reasons - Mr. Trivedi said that... 'Religion should not interfere with the human being... where it is concerned, what we should, and what we should not eat - That we should leave it up to the doctor'. I agree with him that most of the Religions, that is in the case. The Religious authority, the main foundation... that is Almighty God, if He is not a doctor, the God that you worship is not a doctor, then you should not follow him - He says... 'Leave it to the doctor'. But in Islam, we believe... Allah (SWT), Almighty God, is our Creator - and the Creator of the human beings has far Superior knowledge, than all the doctors put together, in all the years. And you can find the statement, as Mr. Rashmibhai Zaveri said... 'All from doctors' - he is quoting from these books, which I think is available for sale outside... all these books. I will touch on some of these points, all out of which many are fictitious... fictitious, do not exist at all - Some are irrelevant, some are untested and some are truth... which are half-baked. I would like to make one point crystal clear, that while I prove undoubtedly, that Non-Veg. food should be permitted for the human beings, I do not have the slightest intention to hurt the feelings of any Vegetarian. And while I prove logically and scientifically that Non-Veg. food is permitted, and if someone feels hurt, his sentiments are hurt... I apologize in advance... I sincerely apologize. My intention is not to hurt anybody's feelings, but I have to reply to the presentation, to the earlier speaker. As far as Islam is concerned, it is not compulsory for a human being to have Non-Veg. - a Muslim can be a very good Muslim, even by being a pure Vegetarian. But... but when our Creator... Almighty God... Allah (SWT), gives us permission to have Non-Veg., why should we not have it? And I started my talk by giving a quotation from the Glorious Qur'an, from Surah Maidah, Ch. No. 5, Verse No. 1, which says... (Arabic ).... 'Fulfill all your obligations and lawful for you for food are. All four footed animals with the exceptions named'. Qur'an further says in Surah Nahl, Ch. No. 16, V. No. 5... 'that cattle has been created by God, for you - in it are various benefits.... - You derive warmth, and of their meat you can eat'. The same message is repeated in Surah Mominun, Ch. 23, V. No. 21... 'that you can have the meat of the cattle'.

  • what is hahal? who made halal? Did god ? HAS I KNOW DO GOOD BE GOOD IS THE WAY OF LIFE.

  • This guy is very dangerous! Not only to him self but to others that follow .

Eating flesh like the so call Christans and Jews do, doesn't make Islam

any better. There one in the same. One is just more extreme than the other,

The eating of flesh, is only to be done if there no plants to eat. If there's no

more fruits and vegetable left the only alternative would be meat. or each other flesh. Universal concepts and laws are ignored in this barbaric village we call earth

    make Islam

  • YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE NATURALS, BE NATURAL, MEAT IS NOT OUR FOOD. .IT IS LIKE EATING YOUR SELF OR YOUR FAMILY. BE VEGETARIAN.

  • all muslims should be vegetarian just as all our prophets were [pbut] the sacred scripts have been altered and distorted to suit the lusts of man, it is not natural to consume flesh, Allah swt gave us thousands of fruits veg nuts and grains to eat why would he want us to also kill his innocent creation just as a luxury item to eat when there is enough food that grows from the ground to sustain us perfectly, animal sacrifice is not what allah wants he wants us to be mercifull and compassionate

  • How could he misquote the quran by explicitly using the word "meat" when it is not even mentioned in these quoted verses?

  • In 23:21, it reads "...We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat."

  • I have reviewed all the suras that are quoted in this video and not a single one of them mentions explicitly that you can eat meat. In fact, in 5:1, what is said is "lawful for you are the animals of grazing live stock except for that which is recited to you". In 16:5, what is said is "And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and (numerous) benefits, and from them you eat."

  • @tranquilocito ... You have no basis to judge that meat is "haram" for Muslims when the Qur'an, the word of Allah, says specifically what types of meat Muslims can eat. If you're a Muslim you should read the Qur'an and hadiths again. Muslims are allowed to eat meat, and they're allowed to be vegetarians. Just accept it : )

  • @oclandestin blood is haram, and in every piece of meat there is blood. So simple.

  • @tranquilocito ... If you're a Muslim, you're misinformed; It's not haram to eat meat, as long as that meat is halal.
