I never knew him or anything, but what he did was something that will stay in me for a long time, if not forever. It's people like him that makes me try to become a better person. Seriously, you're my hero.
It's such a shame that I'll never get to meet such an extraordinary person like him.
It breaks my heart just to watch this, but a great tribute video by Christina nonetheless.
RIP Spc. Ross McGinnis

I never met this young man who sacrificed everything for his friends, but he has held a place in my heart ever since I read his story in 2008 in the local paper; at lunch, with my husband and I couldn't stop crying. I still have that paper in a special place and I happily pull it out and use it to beat people over the head with when they forget the sacrifices our CHILDREN make in the name of freedom. Our sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

two people have no heart for america or freedom. they need to respect those that died for and to protect our freedom

"Simple Man" is a song by southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd from the album (pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd). The song ranks among the best known Skynyrd songs. The song was composed by lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Gary Rossington.
This accoustic version Christina used with her video is indeed a cover recording done in 2004 by the group Shinedown. It is on their "Leave a Whisper" album
