@andreaprodan I think people often confuse people's attempts of analysis and critical thinking as snubbing something. It happens a lot to me. A good example is when you ask somebody who pierces their face a lot why they pierce their face a lot as they would still look fine without lots of metal stuck in their face. Their first reply is more often than not "I do it because I like it and I don't care what anyone thinks because I think it looks cool" which, of course, does not answer the question.

First: I discover is a big fan of Werner Herzog's Films
SECOND: I read Self on Herzog and realize he can't restrain a couple of snide remarks..
Third: I notice how he snubbs Herzogs delight in very long walks... ONE was from Germany to Paris (or vice-versa).
FOURTH: (and here's the good bit...) I read about Mr Self's 'discovery' of Psychogeography, and of his great penchant for long walks to and from 'odd' places. it's a very Freudian story, innit?!
He just had to 'one-up' his former hero.

Psychogeography (the book and the practice) is fascinating. See Nick papadimitirou's work (Will Self''s friend).
I LICK HIS BOOKS

What an unusual question. Self has no patience for facile questions. :)
