From the Good-To-Go Video (www.goodtogovideo.com) archives we present the famed Marine Drum & Bugle Corps in this 1996 Evening Parade Concert. This concert is led by Colonel Truman W. Crawford, Director of the D&B from 1973 until his retirement in 1998. The entire D&B concert from this 1996 performance is available as a bonus feature on the Fierce Pride in Country & Corps DVD. A special tribute to Colonel Crawford is also on the same DVD.

  • That's my father directing. After loosing him I was compelled to begin learning how to play a horn. He left behind so many wonderful arrangements.

This will be my 4th season playing a Baritone. Currently I perform with the Yankee Rebels in Baltimore. The Music Express in Barrington N.J. and this year I push the envelope playing w/ The Hawthorne Cabs. alumni.

I hope I do Dad proud.

  • wow, I'm in that video! Many great Memories!

  • THERE WAS ONLY ONE TRUMAN CRAWFORD.

If you were one of the fortunate few who were allowed to be directed by this "LEGEND" - you should thank the Gods in Heaven ...I was one of those lucky Marines who not only got to see his MAGIC first hand when he arranged and taught us but I was also invited into his home and became family on weekends when we watched "Redskin" games together....I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM AND HIS WONDERFUL FAMILY......GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU TRUMAN - SLEEP WELL MARINE

  • @traslavc

Mutilated? Music is meant to be made and arranged. No music is mutilated.

  • God bless and keep all Marines around the world as they stand guard over our cherished liberties. Would that today's Marines had a worthy commander in chief!

  • For once I would like to hear the unmutilated, original versions of these traditional compositions.

  • Dear Cin,

I'am proud to have served with your Dad, and am sure I speak for those that new him,as I was fortunate too, your Dad will always be remembered.Just wish he and I had fished the Potomic ,more often than we did.I think the last trip...he skunked me!

    Sorry for your lose.....Ray Sabourin

  • @cin4057 I'm sure your DaD is damn pround of you for this post and I wish I could arrange like those who arrange for this most excellent unit. I am a former Army musician(o2m20)percussionist and I wish I had the chops of any Marine in this unit, Drums, Cymbals, or those most magnificant Horn Technicians. Your Dad had to be one of the finest and thanks for His service.

  • I'm Col. Crawfords granddaughter, Ashley. And I was probably 3 when this was taped. And I was most likely there, in the front, row, half asleep. haha

    R.I.P. Truman a.k.a. Pop Pop

  • I saw then at Bands of America Grand National Championship in 1990 and 1991-they never cease to amaze me!

  • My typo. Don't miss it if you are in D.C.
