Here's another Out of the Box review. This time we take a look at the 1/24 Moebius release of the LiS Chariot. This is a skill level 3 kit with over 175 parts to it, so beware! At ~$50 this is not a kit to take lightly. And there are piles of aftermarket kits from photo etch details, to decals, paint masks and more. Another solid offering from Moebius, the one thing to be aware of is that the vinyl of the tires and the tread/tracks is incompatible and there are many instances of the one melting the other! Solution is to coat the tires with anything like a clear coat or even floor wax.

  • I wish I would of seen this video before I bought the kit. In fact the rubber does melt and with my kit they packed the tires with the undercarriage. Now I got tire marks all over the parts :(

  • @lycanwolf4U Moebius will replace it I've heard. It does suck though. I'm selling mine.

  • This kit looks like a dream. I love it.

  • @SpreadingTruths I just had it up on my charity auction this past weekend and didn't sell. Neither did the LiS Space Pod. :(

  • The problem is that type of vinyl reacts with the styrene, as result the styrene melted. You should protect the rims with primer or something similar, before installing the tires. Some modelers, put foil on the outside of the rim to be on the safe side.

  • Nice idea on the foil! I did a bunch of reading and It's the tires and the tracks that hate each other. The tracks are melting the tires. Apparently airplane modelers report similar situations here and there as well..

  • Your Supposed to leave it in the Box - it's worth More :\ QC

  • @ModelManTom I would like the whole set together . I'll email Moebius and see what they say. If nothing I'll try and repair it . I already got a RC Tank lined up to fit the Chariot like another fellow did . It is the best Chariot I've seen so far .
