  • Ronnie Gilbert is the most underrated member of the Weavers. She was to the Weavers what Judith Durham was to the Seekers. The Weavers vocals were elevated from just good to outstanding by Ronnie.

  • That's very kind of you to do so. Let me explain my specific thank you to Lee Hays,God rest his soul. I used to correspond with him by letter in the mid 1970's while at college. I had the opportunity to meet him @ a Clearwater Festival in 1979. He was filled with such wonderful stories!!! Lee was my inspiration to pursue a career in Musicology and he had put me in contact with the Lomax organization at The Library of Congress.

    Peace,

    Max

  • I love the Weavers and this concert was wonderful. Thanks for posting.

  • JUST GREAT - thanks for posting.

  • Increible y bello, aún me queda esperanza en la humanidad

  • I agree with the above comment; Ronnie Gilbert's voice and vocal skill were exceptional. Her harmonies, beautiful. God just brought these four masters together. How wonderful we can still experience these performances. Thank you, Weavers.

  • Just reading some of your comments lets face it they were great. Pete for his song writing Lee for his entertaining Ronnie for her voice and Fred for his guitar playing. I do think though that both Ronnie and Fred more Ronnie were underrated

  • wonderful!

  • Lee Hayes excellent entertainer, comedienne, and song writer.

  • Pete Seeger is by far the world's coolest nonogenarian - what an extraordinary life, with legions of musicians he has influenced. Lee Hayes was a funny guy too. :)

  • I love the Reagan joke.

  • No Pete, no Weavers. Pete was their organizer, leader, and major song writer. Ronnie was their best singer that was a major component of their excellent sound. Unfortunately Ronnie didn't have good song writers write for her after the Weavers.
