This astrophotography project shows the North-East horizon when rising Cassiopeia and Perseus constellations in July 2009. Open with Shedir, alpha Cassiopeia, the brightest star in the upper side. Then appears the famous double cluster in Perseus. Finally we reach Mirphak, alpha Perseus.

Every frame is made of a 15 seconds exposure cropped shot with a Canon EOS 450d or Rebel XTi DSLR camera. Using VirtualDub I have integrated every frame into a high definition video.

  • Great video sequence.

    You have a fixed white pixel almost in the center of the image.What is that? Is that some kind of artifact?

  • It seems to be a CCD failure. Applying a dark frame should be removed.
