Congressman Nadler takes the floor to defend the most important health reforms in decades. The Affordable Health Care for America Act, HR 3962, would at last prohibit insurance companies from denying coverage based on pre-existing health conditions or when a patient becomes sick. It would also expand eligibility for Medicare, create a public health insurance option to compete with private companies, and reduce the deficit by $104 billion over the next decade.
