How to install a dishwasher: preparing the drain line is an important step on installing a dishwasher. Not all drain line connections are created equal, when installing a dishwasher, so don't make any assumptions. Preparing a drain line on installing a dishwasher.....how hard could it be?.....not very, when you know how. Here's "joe" to show you a little about installing a dishwasher drain line.

  • @hgratp Good point. Most garbage disposals are used for the drainline of a dishwasher so if you have a new garbage disposal, or are hooking up a dishwasher first time, to an existing disposal, you will need to remove this plug.....or your dishwasher will not drain. Thank you again for your comments. Joe :0

  • @jazzdiva04 If you have a garbage disposal installed under the sink and the dishwasher drain is connected to the disposal, check to see if the plug was removed from the disposal. It is an option to have the drain go through the disposal and it case you decide to use it you have to cut/remove the plug. For my unit I had to use a screw driver and hammer to knock the plug out. Make sure to remove the cut out from the disposal afterwards.

  • @Qbendanny Now that's the kind of message "joe" likes to hear!..yeah! I'm glad that gave you the confidence to step out of your comfort zone & tackle your project. Just remember.....I'll always be here in the back ground just waiting for you to screw up lol! What I meant to say was I'll always be here in the back-ground just in case you need me, & I will be there for you..does that sound a little mo betta? I guess "joe's" in for a "tip" now that he's saved you some bucks over the last 3 days! :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows -Newsflash, I won't need the shower head video! I went to Home Depot, bought the shower head I wanted and getting the inspiration from "Joe, knoe.." I installed it myself! I am really feeling good that I manned up and didn't have to call anybody.!!! Let's see, I calculate that since I subscribed to your channel, I have saved $125 and that was 3 days ago.

  • @jazzdiva04 Not sure what's up with your dishwasher. Sounds like you have a pump issue or something related to the pump system. Unfortunately, "joe" doesn't have much knowledge in trouble-shooting a dishwasher pump system....can you imagine? "VideoJoeKnows" alot of stuff but not when it comes to this particular "situation". I think it might be time to call a service tech......errrrrggggg! Sometimes it can't be helped. Let me know what you find out. Thanks for watching "joe". Good luck. :0

  • @kipper122670 Glad you found "joe's" channel. I'll make sure he keeps uploading more videos for your entertainment, education, & enjoyment! Thanks for your comments. :0
