I couldn't agree more. Public funds should be used to support public child care - or at the very least community centred not for profit. 1,2,3 Busy Beaver has set up in Calgary and it looks like they're expanding. Their obligations are to the shareholders. Manitoba's cold winters don't seem so bad when they have a system that caps daily fees at $25 and supports after-school care in a model that includes parents, child care workers and community members in decisions that affect our children.
