Where can I find a copy of the Free Ride movie? It blew my mind in the theaters when I was a kid. It's the reason I bought a surf board the next morning.

Mark Richards still makes the best boards. Newcastle Surf for Life

Those surf trunks MR & ST wore back then are way better than today's boardies which restricts maneuverability especially with the knees. 22" length is too much. You've might as well wear jeans or slacks in da H20. Even though the trunks are kinda short & goofy, you can easily control your moves. Heard this style is attempting to make a come back. Where? So I can get a couple of pairs. Mahalo!

@2wordy i will give you the opportunity to edit that statement now. slater is probably the most perfect surfer we have seen to date. power, precision, ruthless. his dominance will most likely never be repeated. if we arent all still gaping at clips of slater in 25 years, then the surf world will have gone to shit.
i am not, however, detracting anything from MR or ST or Gerry or any other surfer of a bygone era. they are still so fun to watch, and thats why im on this video. that is all.

@Dedhedsurfer Yeah I remember that but I still think he's got a funky ass style.
25 years later and MR's surfing is still the most awesome display of style and grace and just downright sick unorthodox perfection. Slater may have 9 trophies on his wall, and he is truly great, but it's MR that we're all watching almost three decades later. KS rocks, but I doubt we'll be watching his vids and hooting at our PCs in 2045. To me MR was always the best blend of ultra competitiveness and who-fuckin-cares balls-out free surfing.
