it takes a lot of practice.. im not saying that it wont work.. i am not saying that it will work.. it is up to the person itself.. if he trains harder it will be his 2nd nature to move without thinking.. just like water

It's a pretty common technique. You people acting like it's something fancy and whatever need to train more. It's easier to do when countering a body kick, but still do-able for a low kick.
I usually do a right kick to the inner thigh when they throw their left body kick.

that would be wonderful if it could work. not in a thai fight, its likely in a street fight

if you people look you can see its only 1 step and a kick not 2 steps but still its a too slow technique and also requires a lot of coordination, because if you dont kick right or place yourself exactly right you are gonna eat that fist in the face yourself cause your enemies body ist turning towards you in his kicking move not away

omg....bad bad bad techniche. It's impossible to have 2 steps after a low kick......

@6makoto9 well no it works, only not always and not for everybody. My old kyokushin sansei was very good at those, but than again h's been trained for probably 30 years or so.

I can see how this would work well, thaijujitsu, but I was wondering if an alternative defence would be merely to turn the knee out of the leg that was about to absorb the kick? Wouldn't this put the knee-cap on a collision course with the shin of the person kicking, and therefore be both effective for the blocker and very painful for the person kicking?
The defender has to do two steps in the time the attacker kicks .... won't work.

looks easy in slow motion. To develop the speed and timing to execute takes a lot of time and practice. I tried it in sparring and failed lol - ended up taking a left hook to the face. At least I'm getting better at blocking punches with my face!! I will try it again and again until I get it though.
