they use christ becuase the main person was a Catholic, in the book the aliens also told him if he was from another religion that they would have had to use another religious explaination more focussed on that religion, they use christianity to make it easier for him to unerstand.

@spitfireJEJ He had a book to sell indeed. Two fantastic books to be exact. He was a director of a large company and was already very very rich. He didn't need the money... and telling his story only hurt his business. but... what's your problem? Are you convinced that aliens are evil or something? Is the possibility of friendly aliens not in line with your religion or ideas about some kind of conspiracy? Tell me, I would like to know....

@Observer1964 when did he die ? do you know if he changed the story on his deathbed ?

what puzzles me is that if they have antigravity then why use a railsystem ? plus cant be much fun always eating frozen quick meals ... :) but its good fiction even if its not true
Never say anything in conflict with the Christ insight such as it appears in the Bible. His authority is unassailable in the whole universe. He is the only way; the only truth and the life. "No one comes to the father except through him" (means: His way of living - foregiving everything you feel as injustice against you).
I read this in the article he wrote....So, the Aliens are Christians?
that was enough for me...NEXT!!!

@stripes5150 No they explain that Christ is an state of evolution in wich you live life as a representation of the cosmic carrier field of creation. (the Creator or God as you will)
It is a state that at some point in evolution the whole species will reach.
Does it make them Christians if they explain how mental evolution works?

@Observer1964 So, obviously they have read our bible. lol. The fact that they are referring to Christ tells me that they have disregarded all other religions on our planet....basically telling the other whatever percent that their beliefs are not worthy of comment or consideration. This demonstrates close-mindedness on the alien's part and shows a sense of religious bias which has caused so much conflict on this planet. I think it is bunk...although at first, I was naive enough to believe it.

@stripes5150 The book basicly describes that they value the religions more or less evenly but that it would have been easier to communicate with a muslim than a christian.
I know the english translation of the book is not as good as the original dutch version am sorry.
I guess wendell stevens had a different focus and thus the book changed a bit.

You have to understand that this happened in the '60s. This is what you could do at the time; Write a book about it and try to get on TV, there was no internet yet.
He was a manager of well known business. He had more to loose than to gain from doing this, and he did loose a lot from bringing out this information. He was declared crazy by his family and collegues and died lonely and unhappy.

“Hij werd voor gek verklaard. Door iedereen in zijn bedrijf -hij was directeur van een firma met honderd werknemers- en zijn familie. Hij is uiteindelijk erg ongelukkig en eenzaam overleden.
